Update: Another batch of updates

This time the update concerns three mutually connected plugins. As usual, it involves Shops, supplemented by Zones and a brand-new plugin managing bank inventories.
01

Shops

The most fundamental changes are brought by shops, which recently underwent a major change: chests are no longer required to create a shop. This time several more tweaks have been added.

Shop inventory size

Whereas previously the inventory size was determined by the chest (or double-chest) in which items were stored, the shop is now far more flexible. It is possible to set non-standard sizes, from nine to 54 slots, in multiples of nine—i.e. one to six rows of nine slots.

Inventory size is set with the command: /gshop size

After typing this command, simply right-click the sign and an inventory will open for choosing the size. The left column shows coloured wool blocks for setting the rows/number of slots in the shop (just click). If the shop already contains items, black wool blocks indicate occupied slots.

02

Transaction limit

For some time, farms in Prime City have used a limit that restricts buying/selling to a set number of items per 24 hours. This limit applies to each player individually, so everyone can earn, for example, only about 1 000 crowns per 24 hours by selling wheat.

Players can now set this limit themselves. Previously, a kind soul might give away food through shops to those in need, only for some troll to buy out the entire shop, ignoring the instructions on the nearby sign.

Now “food donors” (and donors of other items) can secure limited distribution via shops using these limits. Just use the command /gshop limit [number] and then right-click your shop sign. Other players can then buy/sell only the specified number of items per 24 hours.

03

Damaged items

It is now possible to both sell and buy damaged items. If you want to sell them, there’s nothing to worry about—everyone can see the condition of the items they’re buying from your shop. If you want to buy tools, armour or weapons, be careful about the price you set, or your shop might fill up with scrap fit only for repair.

Shops on the dynamic map

Shops can now be tracked on the dynamic map, appearing as small yellow circles. First tick the “Shops” checkbox in the layer filter (top-left corner). Hovering over a yellow marker displays information about that shop.

04

Static shop signs

These are special signs that mark a spot where a shop can be created. Attach a new sign and set parameters as for a normal shop. The difference is that when the shop is removed (sign broken), the static shop sign reappears.

These signs are now used on the marketplace in Prime City. This became necessary because, once chests were no longer required, players could plaster stalls with shop signs. Now the number and position of shops in each stall are defined by these static signs.

05

Zones

With the new zones, stall rents in Prime City’s marketplace have been heavily reduced—by up to 80 %.

Marketplace

Stalls are now fully automated; if someone’s lease expires, the contents of their shops are moved into the player’s personal bank inventory, described below.

The same eviction system will soon be applied to the Prime City Hostel, so if a newcomer rents and occupies a room but then disappears for a long time, they won’t lose their items—they’ll just have to pick them up at the bank.

Creativity with friends

Players who own a plot in Creative Garden no longer have to build “forever alone”. They can now assign friends to their land, giving them the same building rights as the owner.

Use the command: /gz add friends [nick]

Zones on the dynamic map

Not only shops but also certain zones can now be seen on the dynamic map—specifically marketplace stalls and Creative Garden plots. First tick the “Zones” checkbox, as they’re hidden by default. Left-clicking reveals zone information: for stalls you can see the owner and days left on the lease; in Creative Garden you can check which plots are taken and which friends are assigned to help build.

Increased limit in Creative Garden

Due to the growing popularity of Creative Garden, the plot limit has been raised. Each player can now own two plots—one to build on with friends and another to keep private, since friend assignments are individual per plot.

Bank

The newest plugin from the GateCraft workshop is GateBank, enabling banks with NPC bankers. This isn’t a financial institution but an alternative inventory similar to an Ender chest. Unlike Ender chests, bank inventories also receive items from cancelled stalls and evicted chests. If someone hasn’t played in a while, they’ll likely find their possessions in the bank.

Access the bank inventory by right-clicking an NPC banker. If more items are stored than fit in 54 slots, the next opening shows the remaining stored items.

06

Conclusion

That about wraps up the mini-updates that have arrived in recent weeks.

What can we look forward to next? Why, the long-awaited Magic Update, of course ;)

Work will begin in the coming days, rolling out in small parts—spells, new commands, and other magical features—just like the updates of the past few months.
